In 3 days, team UWT will be participating in the 21st annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s Run for the Cure! The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation BC/Yukon Region is our corporate charity of choice; you can read more about our partnership, support, and celebration of the foundation from a previous blog post here.
The run is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer research, education, and awareness programs. It will be taking place in 59 locations across Canada, representing the BC/Yukon, Prairies/Northwest Territories, Ontario, Atlantic, and Quebec regions! The big question that the event asks is “who are you running for?” Many participants are running for a family member, friend, or the future of their daughters and granddaughters. Check out the CBCF’s video on the event below:
The Vancouver 5km starts at Concord Pacific Place at 9:30am on Sunday, September 30th. The UWT team consists of 11 runners, most who also participated in the 10km Vancouver Sun Run back in April. The weather forecast is looking great for Sunday: sunny with cloudy periods and a high of 16C/61F. Stay tuned for our timing results and photos from the event!
Good luck team!!!
