National Truck Driver’s Appreciation week starts this Sunday September 10 till Saturday, September 16th.  This week honors all professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in tackling one of our economy’s most demanding and essential services.

Trucks move approximately 70% of the nations freight by weight, and transport more than 10 billion tons of freight each year. 7.3 million people are employed throughout the economy in jobs related to trucking, with over 3.5 million of those being drivers.

So, take some time next week to celebrate! Many states have various events going on; for example, there are a few events planned in California:

Here are the top 5 things we are thankful for:

  1. Your work on weekends and holidays – trucking has never been a Monday to Friday 9-5 kind of job. Working weekends and holidays and late into the night or early morning is part of the territory. We strive to be available to chat anytime you need us and are always appreciative of the fact that you and your families make this sacrifice to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods!
  1. Your availability – answering our phone calls, returning emails, texts and messages is another thing we are grateful for. This allows us to ensure we are keeping our Customers up to date with the most recent load information.
  1. Your patience – Sometimes waits happen – at loading/unloading and at the border. Your patience while this happens is much appreciated by our team!
  1. Your teamwork/cooperation – every successful load needs teamwork and cooperation to make sure it run smoothly; from loading, in transit, and all the way to delivery. Whether it’s sending photos when required, fixing paperwork, or any of our other day to day requests, we appreciate all that you do!
  1. Your relationship with UWT – above all, we truly value your relationship with us! Whether you are just starting out with us, or have been with us for 10+ years, we are so grateful to work with each and every one of you, and look forward to a long partnership.
